The village of Gopal Nagar, 14 km from Gaya, becomes cut off for about three months each monsoon season due to the absence of a road and bridge, disrupting children’s education and daily life.

Gopal Nagar, a small village situated 14 km from Gaya in Bihar, faces severe isolation every monsoon season. The lack of a proper road and a bridge across the nearby river means that heavy rains flood the area, cutting off all access to the village for up to three months.

During this period, villagers are forced to stay in makeshift shelters, and many children miss their entire school term. Local residents have repeatedly appealed to authorities for basic infrastructure such as a reliable road and a bridge to connect the village with nearby towns.

The isolation not only hampers education but also affects healthcare, as patients have to wait on mattresses and cannot reach medical facilities in time. The community’s long-standing demand for improved connectivity remains unmet, leaving Gopal Nagar vulnerable each year to the monsoon’s disruptions.
