Goods truck falls into gorge in Parbatjhora, Assam; driver unharmed

Earlier today a truck loaded with goods lost control and tumbled into a deep gorge close to the village of Parbatjhora in Assam's Golaghat district. The vehicle disappeared from the road and fell several metres into the ravine, prompting immediate calls for assistance.
Local residents and forest department personnel rushed to the site and managed to pull the driver out of the wreckage. Medical teams examined him on the spot and confirmed that he sustained no injuries, allowing him to be taken to the nearest health centre for a routine check.
Authorities have cordoned off the area to prevent further accidents and are conducting a preliminary investigation into the cause, citing possible brake failure or slippery road conditions as likely factors. Traffic on the adjoining highway has been temporarily diverted while rescue crews clear the debris.
