The Goa Staff Selection Commission has filled 83% of the government primary teacher vacancies, marking significant progress in staffing schools.

The Goa Staff Selection Commission (SSC) announced that it has successfully appointed candidates to 83% of the vacant government primary teacher positions across the state. The recruitment drive, launched earlier this year, was aimed at addressing chronic teacher shortages in both rural and urban schools. The commission conducted written examinations and interviews, selecting qualified candidates from thousands of applicants. The remaining 17% of posts are expected to be filled in the coming weeks as the commission completes the final rounds of selection and verification. Officials said the accelerated hiring will improve student‑teacher ratios and support Goa's education objectives, a move welcomed by teachers' unions and parents alike.
