Jennifer Monseratte, a prominent Goa BJP legislator and former state minister, died at the age of 56. Her death was confirmed by party officials on Tuesday.
Jennifer Monseratte, a senior member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa, died on Tuesday at the age of 56. The former state minister, who had served in the Goa cabinet, was known for his active participation in legislative debates and constituency development.
Monseratte had been elected to the Goa Legislative Assembly from the Panaji constituency in 2017 and re‑elected in 2022. During his tenure he held portfolios related to tourism and public works, and was credited with initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure in coastal districts.
The BJP leadership expressed deep sorrow over the loss. Party spokespersons and senior leaders sent condolences to the family, noting Monseratte’s dedication to public service and his role in strengthening the party’s presence in Goa.
