On Wednesday, a gas leak was reported on the Gobarsahi‑Dumri main road in Muzaffarpur, prompting residents to flee their homes as the odor of gas spread rapidly.
The leak came after a pipeline explosion earlier in the week that had caused injuries to a local youth. Authorities responded promptly, shutting off the gas supply to the affected section and dispatching inspection teams.
No injuries were reported from the leak itself, but officials warned that the situation could worsen if the pipeline was not secured. Residents were advised to stay indoors until the leak was fully contained.
The local police and the state gas board are working together to identify the source of the leak and restore normal service. Residents remain cautious as the investigation continues.
