Ganesh Immersion Begins on Dol Gyaras in Bhopal, Grand Procession Set for Sept 25

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has deployed cranes, pontoons, 24‑hour divers, cleaning crews and security as Ganesh immersion commences on September 22, with a large procession scheduled for September 25.
Bhopal will witness the start of the annual Ganesh immersion ceremony on September 22, coinciding with the traditional Dol Gyaras festival. The municipal authorities have prepared key ghats along the Upper Lake, installing cranes and floating platforms to facilitate the safe lowering of Ganesh idols into the water.
The city’s officials have also arranged for divers to monitor the immersion sites around the clock, ensuring that the idols are submerged without incident. Dedicated cleaning teams will operate throughout the event, and heightened security measures are in place to manage crowds at the ghats.
A major procession, known as the Anant Chaturdashi march, is slated for September 25. Devotees will carry the deities from various neighborhoods to the designated ghats, creating a vibrant, city‑wide celebration that blends religious devotion with organized civic support.
