Central minister Nitin Gadkari has urged the Madhya Pradesh government to increase the number of buses per 1,000 residents to curb the 40% pollution attributed to transport, emphasizing cleaner fuels, lower fares, safer vehicles and better connectivity.
At a press conference in Madhya Pradesh, Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted that transport accounts for 40% of the state’s pollution and pledged to take responsibility for addressing the issue.
He urged state authorities to raise the number of buses available per 1,000 residents, arguing that a larger fleet would ease congestion and reduce reliance on private vehicles.
Gadkari also stressed the importance of adopting cleaner fuels, lowering fares, ensuring safer buses and improving overall connectivity across the state.
