Four teenage girls from Bihar were discovered dead after bathing in a pond, according to local authorities.
Local police in Bihar reported that the bodies of four girls, aged between 13 and 16, were recovered from a shallow pond on Monday. The girls were reportedly taking a bath when they slipped and drowned, according to statements from village officials.
The incident occurred in a rural area of Bihar, where the pond is a common spot for daily chores. Rescue teams were dispatched but were unable to revive the victims. Authorities have sealed the pond and are conducting a preliminary inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Family members of the deceased have been informed, and a grief counseling team has been sent to the village. The police have urged residents to avoid bathing in open water bodies without proper safety measures and have promised a thorough investigation.
The tragedy follows a separate drowning incident in Pune, but officials confirmed that the two events are unrelated. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
