Ashok Ghalot, former chief minister of Rajasthan, alleged that the Bhajan Lal administration manipulated local body election delimitation and misused police powers, while also urging immediate drought relief measures.

Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Ghalot publicly charged the incumbent Bhajan Lal government with tampering in the delimitation process for local body elections. He claimed that the ruling administration altered constituency boundaries to favour its candidates, undermining the fairness of the electoral exercise.

Ghalot also alleged that the state police were being employed as a tool of political pressure, citing instances where law‑enforcement actions appeared to target opposition supporters. He urged the government to cease such practices and uphold democratic norms.

Highlighting the severe drought affecting large parts of Rajasthan, Ghalot called for the swift completion of the Girdauri relief scheme and appealed to the central government for additional assistance to mitigate the crisis.

The former chief minister’s statements were made during a press interaction in Jaipur, where he demanded transparency in the delimitation exercise and immediate action to address the water shortage.

No official response from the Bhajan Lal administration has been recorded at the time of reporting.
