A blast during a firecracker manufacturing operation in Siwan, Bihar, killed five people, prompting authorities to launch a raid on a local firecracker market.
Earlier this week, a firecracker manufacturing unit in Siwan district of Bihar exploded, killing five workers. The blast occurred while the workers were preparing firecrackers, causing a fire that spread rapidly across the premises.
The incident prompted the Muzaffarpur district administration to become alert and initiate a raid on a nearby firecracker market. Police sealed several shops and seized illegal firecrackers during the operation.
Investigators are examining the safety protocols at the manufacturing unit and the supply chain of the seized firecrackers. The authorities have urged stricter enforcement of firecracker production regulations across the state.
