A gunman randomly shot at pedestrians in Krakow, killing five and wounding over a dozen, authorities say.
Police in Krakow responded to reports of a shooter firing indiscriminately at people in the city centre. The gunman, whose motives remain unclear, was apprehended by officers after a brief exchange.
The attack left five victims dead and more than twelve injured, according to local health officials. Emergency services rushed the wounded to nearby hospitals, where they received critical care.
Investigators are now questioning the suspect and examining the weapon used, while the city grapples with the shock of a rare mass‑shooting event on Polish soil.
