Union Minister Jitendra Singh said the resurgence of film shooting in Jammu & Kashmir reflects a return to normal life and opens new economic opportunities.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh highlighted that the recent increase in film shoots across Jammu & Kashmir is a clear sign that the region is moving back to normalcy after years of disruption.
He noted that the revival of the film industry brings fresh opportunities for local talent, ancillary services and tourism, as crews and actors bring demand for accommodation, transport and other support services.
Singh added that the government is keen to facilitate further projects by simplifying permissions and providing incentives, hoping that sustained activity will boost the state's economy and showcase its scenic locations to a wider audience.
Industry observers expect more productions to consider Jammu & Kashmir as a viable shooting destination, given the improved security environment and the state's natural allure.
The minister’s comments underscore a broader strategy to use cultural and creative sectors as engines of post‑conflict recovery and growth in the region.
