Consultancy EY forecasts India's fiscal year 2027 GDP to expand between 7% and 7.2%, citing resilient domestic demand even as global conditions tighten.

EY, a global professional services firm, released its FY27 outlook indicating India’s economy is likely to grow at 7% to 7.2% in the fiscal year 2027‑28, surpassing many regional peers.
The projection comes amid a backdrop of tightening global monetary conditions, slower growth in major economies, and commodity price volatility, which analysts term "global headwinds."
EY attributes the robust outlook to sustained domestic consumption, ongoing structural reforms, and continued foreign investment inflows, which together are expected to offset external pressures.
The forecast marks an upward revision from the firm’s earlier estimate for FY26 and aligns with the government’s target of 7% growth, signalling confidence in India’s macroeconomic resilience.
The Times of India reported the estimate, noting that while the range reflects uncertainty, the central estimate remains firmly above the 6% threshold many analysts consider a safe growth floor for the country.
