Police in Tripura have taken eight more individuals into custody in connection with the assault on Border Security Force personnel in the Ashabari area.
Tripura police announced the arrest of eight more suspects linked to the recent assault on Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in the Ashabari region. The arrests were made after a series of investigations that traced the accused to several localities within the state. Authorities said the operation was coordinated with the BSF to ensure swift custody of the individuals involved.
The Ashabari attack, which shocked local communities, had earlier led to the detention of several persons suspected of planning and executing the assault. The latest arrests bring the total number of detainees to a higher count, underscoring the ongoing crackdown on the network behind the incident.
Senior police officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and that further interrogations could reveal additional conspirators. They also assured the public that security forces are intensifying patrols in vulnerable border areas to prevent any recurrence of such attacks.
