The Election Commission of India has issued official notifications to hold assembly by‑polls in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Bihar, and the nomination window has opened.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released formal notifications to conduct assembly by‑elections for vacant seats in the legislative assemblies of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Bihar. The notifications come after recent resignations and other events that created openings in these state legislatures.
According to the notice, the nomination filing period will begin on the date specified by the commission and remain open for the prescribed number of days. After the filing deadline, candidate papers will be scrutinised, and a withdrawal window will be provided as per the Representation of the People Act.
