The Election Commission has instructed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of West Bengal, along with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), to ensure strict adherence to a zero-tolerance policy regarding post-poll violence.

The Election Commission of India (EC) has issued a directive to the top administrative and police leadership in West Bengal. The commission has specifically asked the state's Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) to enforce a strict zero-tolerance approach towards any instances of post-poll violence.

Furthermore, the EC has also mandated the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) deployed in the state to actively participate in ensuring this policy is upheld. This directive aims to prevent and address any disturbances or violence that may occur in the aftermath of the elections, ensuring a peaceful transition and public safety.

The commission's instruction underscores the importance of maintaining law and order and preventing any escalation of conflict following the electoral process in West Bengal.
