Eastern Railway has announced special trains for the upcoming Puja holidays, linking Kolkata with destinations in North Bengal and Assam, with ticket reservations to begin shortly.
Eastern Railway issued a notice that it will operate a set of Puja special trains during the festive period. The services are aimed at catering to the surge in passenger traffic as devotees travel to and from Kolkata for Durga Puja celebrations.
The special trains will run on routes connecting Kolkata with key stations in North Bengal and Assam, including Siliguri, New Jalpaiguri, Guwahati and other major junctions. Timetables have been drafted to ensure convenient departure and arrival times for holiday travelers.
Ticket booking for the Puja specials will open in the coming days through the IRCTC portal and railway reservation counters. Passengers are advised to book early as seats are expected to fill quickly due to the high demand typical of the festival season.
