Filmmaker Rahul Sankrityan says he selected Vijay Deverakonda for the upcoming film Ranabaali because he wanted a warrior‑like hero.
Veteran director Rahul Sankrityan announced that Vijay Deverakonda will headline his next project, titled Ranabaali. The casting decision was revealed in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama.
Sankrityan explained that the role demanded a protagonist with the stature and presence of a warrior, qualities he believes Deverakonda embodies. "I wanted a hero with the stature of a warrior," he said, emphasizing the physical and emotional intensity required for the character.
While details about the film’s plot and release schedule remain under wraps, the director’s comments suggest an action‑driven narrative where the lead’s strength and resolve will be central to the story.
Industry observers note that Deverakonda’s involvement could broaden the film’s appeal across both Hindi and regional markets, given his pan‑Indian fan base.
The announcement adds to the growing anticipation surrounding Ranabaali, positioning it as a potential high‑profile addition to the upcoming slate of Indian cinema releases.
