The Digital Antyodaya Yatra will inaugurate a new set of health services at Tripura's Santiniketan Medical College on 25 September, aiming to improve rural healthcare access.
Digital Antyodaya Yatra, a government‑backed outreach programme, is scheduled to commence a suite of health services at the Santiniketan Medical College in Tripura on September 25. The initiative seeks to extend primary and preventive care to underserved communities in the state, leveraging telemedicine, mobile clinics and health awareness campaigns.
Officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, along with college administrators, will attend the inauguration ceremony. They plan to showcase digital health platforms that enable remote consultations, electronic medical records and real‑time disease surveillance.
The launch aligns with the central government's broader goal of strengthening rural health infrastructure under the National Health Mission. Stakeholders expect the services to reduce travel burdens for patients in remote villages and improve early detection of common ailments.
The program will initially operate for a six‑month pilot phase, after which performance metrics will be reviewed for possible expansion to other medical colleges in the Northeast region.
