The Hindu festival of Dhanteras will be observed on Friday, 6 November 2026, coinciding with the Hast Nakshatra, a rare astrological alignment noted by experts.
The annual Dhanteras celebration, marking the onset of the Diwali season, is scheduled for Friday, 6 November 2026. This year the festival aligns with the Hast Nakshatra, an astrological position that occurs when the moon resides in the constellation associated with the elephant.
Astrologers point out that the concurrence of a Friday and the Hast Nakshatra is uncommon, and they consider it an auspicious moment for activities related to wealth, health and prosperity. Traditional calendars highlight this combination as a favorable muhurat for initiating new purchases.
Consumers are advised to plan major buying decisions, especially for gold, silver, and household items, during the identified muhurat period. Retailers across the country anticipate a surge in footfall as shoppers seek to capitalize on the perceived good luck.
While the alignment does not guarantee financial outcomes, the cultural belief in its positivity continues to influence buying patterns during Dhanteras, reinforcing the festival's role as a catalyst for economic activity.
