The latest revision of Delhi’s electoral roll shows a 32.8% drop in total entries and a reduced gender gap as female registration rises.

The Election Commission of Delhi released its most recent update to the electoral roll, revealing a sharp contraction of 32.8% in the total number of registered voters. The reduction reflects the removal of duplicate, outdated, or ineligible entries during the systematic cleaning process.

Alongside the overall shrinkage, the gender composition of the roll shifted noticeably. Female registrations increased proportionally, narrowing the long‑standing gap between male and female voters. Analysts note that the change brings the gender balance closer to parity, though exact percentages were not disclosed.

The revised roll will be used for upcoming elections in the capital, and officials say the cleaner list aims to improve the accuracy of voter verification and reduce logistical burdens on polling stations.
