The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has intensified its street‑cleaning operations while new mechanised sweepers are still pending delivery.
Delhi's Municipal Corporation (MCD) has launched an intensified road‑cleaning campaign across the capital, deploying additional staff and manual sweepers to improve street hygiene.
The corporation is awaiting the arrival of a fleet of new mechanised sweepers; in the meantime, crews continue using hand‑held brooms and smaller motorised units to keep major thoroughfares clean.
Officials say the accelerated effort aims to curb litter buildup ahead of the monsoon season and to reassure residents about public‑health standards, with the new machines expected to be operational by early next year.
