The Union Government has increased the Central Armed Police Forces deployment in Delhi to 26,000 personnel in preparation for the Confederation of Joint Police (CJP) protest scheduled for Saturday.
The central government has raised the strength of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in Delhi to 26,000 ahead of a planned protest by the Confederation of Joint Police (CJP) on Saturday. The decision, announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, aims to ensure law and order during what officials anticipate could be a large public gathering.
CAPF units, which include the CRPF, BSF, ITBP and other paramilitary forces, will be deployed across key locations in the capital, such as the Parliament House, major road junctions and protest routes. Senior police officials said the deployment will be coordinated with Delhi Police to manage crowd control and prevent any untoward incidents.
No specific threat has been reported, but the authorities have opted for a precautionary approach given the political sensitivity of the demonstration. The forces are expected to maintain a visible presence, conduct regular patrols and be ready to respond swiftly if the situation escalates.
The protest, scheduled for Saturday, is expected to draw participants from across the country. While the government has not disclosed the exact number of expected demonstrators, the heightened security posture reflects its commitment to safeguard public safety and the smooth functioning of the city.
