A Delhi-based inquiry into a Rs 650 crore scam involving the procurement of medicines and equipment has been hampered by the disappearance of the officer in charge, whose phone is switched off.

Authorities are investigating a significant scam in Delhi estimated to involve Rs 650 crore concerning the purchase of medicines and medical equipment. The probe has encountered an obstacle as the officer in charge has reportedly left their post.

Attempts to contact the officer, identified as Dr. Ranga, have been unsuccessful, with their mobile phone found to be switched off. Given the seriousness of the matter, vigilance officials dispatched a special messenger to the officer's residence in West Vihar.

However, a domestic helper at the residence informed the messenger that the officer was not present at home, further complicating efforts to reach them for questioning or to secure necessary documents related to the alleged procurement irregularities.
