Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore has received working‑committee approval to construct an Rs 8 crore lecture theatre equipped with modern digital classrooms, aiming to reduce academic pressure.
The University of Indore’s Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has secured formal approval from its working committee to erect a state‑of‑the‑art lecture theatre valued at approximately Rs 8 crore. The project, slated to be built on the university campus, will also house a series of digital classrooms and a seminar hall.
Designed to incorporate interactive teaching technologies, the digital classrooms will enable faculty to deliver multimedia‑rich sessions, while the lecture theatre will serve large‑scale academic events. Officials expect these facilities to alleviate the current strain on existing lecture spaces and improve the overall learning environment.
Funding for the construction will be drawn from the university’s development budget, and the building is projected to be completed within the next two years. Once operational, the new infrastructure is anticipated to support a higher number of students and reduce scheduling bottlenecks for seminars and lectures.
