Collector Pratap Narayan Yadav dismissed SDM Saurabh Ghandharv and suspended a tahsildar and a revenue reader after a probe uncovered serious irregularities in the district's revenue courts.
Damoh district administration took decisive action on Tuesday after a detailed inquiry revealed major procedural lapses in its revenue courts. Collector Pratap Narayan Yadav removed Sub-Divisional Magistrate Saurabh Ghandharv from his post, citing failure to address the irregularities that were flagged during the audit.
In addition to the SDM's removal, the collector suspended Tahsildar Robin Jain and the associated revenue reader pending further investigation. Both officials were found to be linked to the procedural breaches that compromised the functioning of the courts.
Seven other officers and staff members received formal notices requesting explanations for their roles in the misconduct. The administration has indicated that disciplinary proceedings will follow based on the responses received.
The swift punitive measures underscore the district's commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in revenue administration, aiming to restore public confidence in the judicial processes of the region.
