Around 140 dairy outlets in Khilchipur have halted operations as milk sellers and producers launched an indefinite strike demanding higher milk prices.

Milk sellers and dairy‑producing farmers in Khilchipur, Madhya Pradesh, have started an indefinite strike to press for an increase in milk prices. The protest began after negotiations with local traders failed to yield a satisfactory price rise.

The strike has forced more than 140 dairy shops and distribution points across the town and surrounding villages to close, disrupting the regular supply of milk and dairy products to consumers.

Local authorities have been approached for mediation, but no resolution has been announced yet. The situation remains fluid as the protestors maintain their demand for higher rates, and the impact on the local dairy market continues to grow.
