Cyclone Arnab has lost strength, and the Andhra Pradesh government has pledged financial assistance for families and businesses hit by the storm.
The tropical system named Arnab has weakened considerably as it moved away from the eastern coast of India, reducing the immediate threat of severe winds and heavy rainfall. Meteorological officials said the cyclone is now expected to dissipate over the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours.
In response, the Andhra Pradesh state administration announced a package of financial assistance aimed at households and commercial entities that suffered damage during the storm. The relief scheme will be disbursed through existing welfare channels to ensure swift support for those whose homes, crops or businesses were affected.
State officials added that relief teams are already on the ground assessing damage, and that additional measures such as temporary shelters and food distribution will continue until recovery efforts are complete.
