The Cyberabad police department has asked employees and the public to log out early on Thursday, citing an imminent rainstorm expected across Hyderabad.
Cyberabad police issued an advisory on Thursday urging office workers, students and anyone planning to be outdoors to finish their duties and log out earlier than usual. The warning comes after the regional meteorological office projected a sudden downpour across Hyderabad and adjoining areas later in the day.
Officials said the early logout is intended to reduce traffic congestion and minimise the risk of water‑related accidents on the city’s busy roads. They have also instructed commuters to avoid non‑essential travel and to stay updated with real‑time weather alerts.
The police department will monitor the situation closely and stand ready to deploy additional traffic control units if the rain intensifies. Residents are asked to secure loose objects, avoid flooded zones and follow any further instructions issued by local authorities.
This advisory aligns with the state’s broader safety protocol during extreme weather events, aiming to protect public safety while maintaining essential services.
