Environmental groups have asked the National Tiger Conservation Authority to revisit the tiger corridor map in Maharashtra, citing gaps that could hinder wildlife connectivity.

The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has released a new tiger corridor map for Maharashtra, but several conservation groups have raised concerns about its accuracy.

Experts argue that the current map overlooks critical habitats and fails to account for recent land‑use changes, potentially fragmenting tiger populations.

The groups warn that without a revised corridor, tiger movements could be restricted, jeopardising the species’ long‑term survival in the state.

NTCA officials have said they will review the feedback and may update the map in the coming months.
