In Rajasthan's local body polls, Congress emerged as the largest party in Ajmer, Pali and Bikaner, while BJP secured majorities in Udaipur and Bhilwara, signaling significant shifts in traditional strongholds.
The recent Rajasthan local body elections have seen a dramatic reshuffling of power in several key districts. In Ajmer, Pali and Bikaner, the Indian National Congress secured the highest number of seats, establishing itself as the dominant force in those areas.
Conversely, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to retain control in Udaipur and Bhilwara, but the margins were narrower than in previous elections. In many other strongholds, the BJP suffered unexpected setbacks, indicating a broader shift in voter sentiment.
Independent candidates also played a pivotal role, winning several seats and altering the balance of power in local councils. The results suggest that traditional party loyalties are being challenged, and both major parties may need to reassess their strategies for the next electoral cycle.
