During the Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession in Chittorgarh and nearby Bassi, a dispute over paper leaves thrown in the air led to a face‑to‑face standoff between two communities, which police managed to contain.

Police in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, reported a heated confrontation during the Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession when participants began throwing paper leaves (panniyon) into the crowd. The practice sparked a dispute between two community groups, who faced each other along the procession route in both Chittorgarh city and the nearby town of Bassi.

Law enforcement officers quickly formed a cordon to separate the groups and prevent the situation from escalating. Officers used standard crowd‑control measures and directed the procession to continue along a safer path while keeping both sides apart.

No injuries or arrests were reported at the time of the incident. The police statement emphasized that the disruption was limited to the dispute over the paper leaves and that the procession resumed after the authorities restored order.

Local officials have urged participants to observe peaceful conduct during religious events to avoid similar confrontations in the future.
