China Rejects India's Arunachal Pradesh Map, Stays Firm on Territorial Claim

China released a statement on Tuesday, declaring that the map published by India for Arunachal Pradesh is inaccurate and that it will not change Beijing’s position on the border. The Chinese Foreign Ministry reiterated that the territory remains part of China’s sovereign domain and that any Indian depiction is a violation of international law. In response, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said it would review the map and take necessary steps to protect its territorial integrity. The dispute over Arunachal Pradesh has been a long-standing issue between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, with India claiming the region as part of its sovereign territory and China asserting it as part of its western Tibet. The latest statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with both sides maintaining a firm stance on their respective claims.
