The state government has released a one‑thousand‑rupee cash gift to eligible women under the Mahtari Vandana Yojana as part of Raksha Bandhan celebrations.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Chhattisgarh government announced the release of a cash gift of ₹1,000 to women who meet the eligibility criteria of the Mahtari Vandana Yojana. The disbursement is being carried out across the state as a festive gesture to honour the bond between siblings and to support women’s financial empowerment.

Mahtari Vandana Yojana, launched by the state, aims to provide modest financial assistance to women from vulnerable sections of society. Under the scheme, a one‑thousand‑rupee amount is transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries, ensuring transparency and swift delivery.

State officials indicated that the cash gift is part of a broader effort to promote financial inclusion and celebrate cultural festivals with tangible benefits for women. The department responsible for the scheme confirmed that the transfers have been processed through existing digital payment channels, minimizing delays.

While exact beneficiary numbers were not disclosed, the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to combine social welfare with cultural observances, reinforcing the role of women in family and community life.
