The Chhattisgarh state education board has begun a pilot training programme to introduce a Holistic Progress Card aimed at broader student assessment.
The Chhattisgarh Board of Education announced the start of a pilot training programme for a new Holistic Progress Card, a tool designed to assess students beyond conventional academic scores. The initiative seeks to capture a wider range of student abilities, including co‑curricular participation, health indicators and socio‑emotional development.
Training sessions are being organised for teachers and school administrators in selected schools across the state. Participants will be guided on the methodology, data collection and interpretation of the new card, with experts from the board facilitating the workshops.
The board intends to use feedback from this pilot to fine‑tune the assessment framework before a possible statewide rollout, aiming to provide a more comprehensive picture of each learner's progress.
Board officials emphasized that the Holistic Progress Card aligns with ongoing reforms to promote all‑round development and to move away from an exclusive focus on exam marks.
