Chhattisgarh aims to create 200,000 jobs via industry, 15,000+ govt hires announced

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced that Chhattisgarh plans to create 200,000 jobs by promoting industrial projects across the state. The government aims to attract investments in sectors such as steel, cement, and agro‑processing, which are expected to drive the employment surge.
In parallel, the administration reported that more than 15,000 vacancies in various state departments have already been filled, reflecting an ongoing effort to boost public‑sector employment. Officials said the recruitment drive covered positions in education, health, and administrative services.
Sai emphasized that the job‑creation strategy aligns with the state's broader economic roadmap, which seeks to raise per‑capita income and curb migration. He urged private players to partner with the government in setting up new manufacturing units and skill‑development centers.
The chief minister also highlighted that the state will monitor progress through quarterly reviews and will provide incentives to companies that meet local hiring targets. The initiative is part of Chhattisgarh's commitment to inclusive growth ahead of the upcoming state elections.
Stakeholders, including trade bodies and labor unions, have welcomed the announcement but called for transparent implementation and timely disbursement of promised incentives.
