ChatGPT Adds PIN and Face ID Lock for Secret Chats

OpenAI’s ChatGPT now lets users secure their secret conversations with a PIN or Face ID, adding an extra layer of privacy.
OpenAI has rolled out a new security feature in ChatGPT that allows users to lock their secret chats with a PIN or Face ID. The update, announced in a recent blog post, applies to the private conversation mode that users can enable to keep messages hidden from others who might access the same device. By setting a PIN or using biometric authentication, users can prevent unauthorized access to sensitive discussions.
The feature is available on both the web and mobile versions of ChatGPT, and it can be turned on or off from the settings menu. When activated, the app prompts for the PIN or Face ID each time a locked chat is opened.
OpenAI said the addition is part of its ongoing effort to enhance user privacy and data security. The company has not yet disclosed whether the PIN or Face ID data is stored locally or on its servers.
The move comes amid growing concerns over data privacy in AI applications, and it follows similar security measures introduced by other messaging platforms.
