The Union Ministry outlined a multi‑layered system designed to protect the NEET examination from tampering as the case comes before the Supreme Court.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on behalf of the National Testing Agency, presented a detailed list of safeguards that govern the conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The briefing highlighted that every candidate must undergo biometric verification before entering the test centre, and that all question papers are encrypted and stored on secure servers until the moment of release.
Transportation of the papers is carried out in tamper‑evident containers, monitored by GPS and overseen by independent auditors appointed by the ministry. Once the papers reach the examination halls, they are placed under continuous CCTV surveillance and subjected to random spot checks to detect any irregularities.
The ministry also emphasized that a real‑time monitoring dashboard links the test centres with a central command centre, allowing rapid response to any breach attempt. These layers of security are being defended as "foolproof" and "difficult to breach" as the Supreme Court examines petitions alleging leaks in the examination process.
