A Central Bureau of Investigation team has reached Mansa, Punjab, to investigate the killing of anti‑drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, with a fresh FIR lodged and family interviews scheduled.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) dispatched a team to Mansa in Punjab on Monday to take over the probe into the murder of Parvinder Singh Jhota, a well‑known anti‑drug campaigner. The team arrived at the local police station and began coordinating with state officials to assess the progress of the ongoing investigation.

According to local reports, the CBI has filed a new First Information Report (FIR) that outlines fresh leads and potential suspects in the case. The FIR supersedes earlier filings and signals a more intensive investigative approach, including forensic examinations and witness verification.

The investigative team has indicated that it will interview Jhota’s family members within the next few hours to gather additional information about his activities and any threats he may have received. Authorities have asked the public to cooperate and share any relevant details that could aid the inquiry.
