The Central Bureau of Investigation has submitted a Punjab file showing proof of 21 compromised administrative transfers and 11 policy alterations.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has handed over a file pertaining to Punjab that documents concrete evidence of 21 administrative transfers that were allegedly compromised. The same dossier also lists eleven changes in government policy that the agency says are linked to the irregularities.

According to the filing, each of the 21 transfers involved deviations from standard procedures, raising questions about undue influence in the appointment process. The eleven policy modifications are described as having been introduced in conjunction with these transfers, suggesting a coordinated effort to alter administrative outcomes.

The CBI has not disclosed the identities of the officials involved, citing the need to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation. However, the agency indicated that the findings will be presented to the appropriate oversight bodies for further action.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that the evidence is based on documentary proof and internal communications obtained during the probe. They added that any misuse of authority uncovered in the file will be pursued under existing anti-corruption statutes.

The release of the Punjab file underscores the CBI's continued focus on probing irregularities in state-level administration and reinforces its mandate to ensure transparency in public service appointments.
