The Central Bureau of Investigation told the Supreme Court that accused Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh could tamper with witnesses in Bhopal, urging a transfer of the Tvisha Sharma murder trial to Delhi.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has approached the Supreme Court seeking to shift the trial of the Tvisha Sharma murder case from Bhopal to Delhi. The case, which involves the death of 19‑year‑old student Tvisha Sharma, is currently being heard in the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s Bhopal bench.

In its petition, the CBI warned that the two accused, identified as Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh, have the capacity to influence or intimidate witnesses residing in Bhopal. The agency argued that such interference could jeopardise the integrity of the proceedings and the rights of the victim’s family.

Based on these concerns, the CBI has requested the Supreme Court to order a change of venue to Delhi, where it believes the trial can be conducted without undue pressure on witnesses. The bureau emphasized that a fair and impartial trial is essential for delivering justice in this high‑profile murder case.

The Supreme Court has not yet ruled on the petition, and the matter remains pending before the apex court.
