Campaigning for the assembly elections in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry has officially ended, with polls scheduled for April 9.

The Election Commission has announced that campaigning for the assembly elections in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry has come to a close. All political parties and candidates are required to stop campaigning activities by the end of the day on March 29.

The deadline follows the guidelines set out in the Representation of the People Act, which mandates a 48‑hour period of silence before polling day. The elections are slated to take place on April 9, with voting expected to begin at 7:00 a.m. local time.

Election officials have urged voters to prepare for the polls, reminding them of the need to bring valid photo‑ID and to adhere to the polling schedule. The Commission has also announced that polling stations will be set up across the three states and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The end of campaigning marks a significant milestone in the electoral process, as the focus shifts to voter turnout and the conduct of the polls on the scheduled day.
