BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week Cncludes in Thoubal, Manipur: ULBs Conduct Awarness Drives
The BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week 2026 concluded today in Thoubal District with various awareness events organised under the theme 'Reduce Waste', centered around the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) framework.
Today's events were held with a mission for protecting and safeguarding the environment which involves daily habits, sustainable resource use and community-driven action to preserve ecosystems for future generations.
Thoubal Municipal Council officials conducted awareness drives at various locations in Thoubal using banners. Also, publicity drive was conducted using mobile van public awareness system were official made announcements to the public regarding the importance of waste segregation and environmental protection & conservation.
Heirok Municipal Council officials conducted drives using banner "Plastic Free Communities & Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" at different areas in Heirok. The banner also carried slogans -- 'Live Sustainable', 'Act Responsible', 'Build a Greener Future' and 'Say No to Plastic Pollution'.
The officials of Wangjing Lamding Municipal Council conducted cleanliness drive and awareness campaign at Wanjing Bazar regarding effective waste management to protect environment.
Yairipok Municipal Council officials conducted awareness drives at Yairipok. The officials raised awareness regarding effective waste management to shopkeepers and public.
Shikhong Sekmai Municipal Council officials during drive gave awareness to the shopkeepers regarding plastic pollution, especially caused by the single-use plastics and gave awareness on it's alternatives.
Apart from conducting cleanliness drives and awareness campaigns, the officials of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) took pledge to protect and safeguard the environment along with raising awareness to others.
