BJP Supporters Block NH-8 in South Tripura Over Alleged TMP Violence

BJP supporters gathered in the southern districts of Tripura and blocked the National Highway 8 to protest alleged violence attributed to the Tripura Mukti Parishad (TMP). The protest began in the early afternoon and quickly attracted a large crowd, forcing traffic to halt on the main artery that connects the state capital to the border. Police were called to the scene and attempted to clear the road, but the demonstrators remained firm, citing the need for a thorough investigation into the incidents. Authorities have announced that they will review the claims and coordinate with local law‑enforcement agencies to ensure safety and order. The protest has drawn attention to the ongoing tensions between political groups in the region.
