The 2026 Rajasthan municipal elections have concluded, with the Bharatiya Janata Party securing a majority in Sanchore and the Indian National Congress winning in Kushalgarh.
The Rajasthan Municipal Corporation elections held on 12th March 2026 have now been declared final by the State Election Commission. In the town of Sanchore, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the clear winner, capturing a majority of the seats in the municipal council. The party’s campaign focused on local development and infrastructure projects, which resonated with voters.
Across the state, the Indian National Congress (INC) secured a decisive victory in Kushalgarh, taking control of the municipal council there. The Congress’s emphasis on public welfare schemes and community outreach helped it gain a strong foothold.
The results also highlighted the performance of independent candidates, who contested in several wards but did not secure any seats in either town. The Election Commission noted that voter turnout was above the state average, reflecting heightened public engagement in local governance.
Both parties have expressed gratitude to their supporters and pledged to work towards the development of their respective towns. The final tally will be published in the official gazette by the end of the week.
