BJD flags disparity in paddy farmer registration window between Odisha and Chhattisgarh

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has drawn attention to a perceived mismatch in the time frame allotted for paddy farmer registration in Odisha versus that in Chhattisgarh. Party officials argue that the shorter window in Odisha could limit the ability of local cultivators to enrol for government schemes linked to rice production. They contend that the disparity places Odisha's farmers at a competitive disadvantage, especially as the neighbouring state enjoys a longer period to complete the same process. The BJD has urged the state administration to review and align the registration schedule with that of Chhattisgarh to ensure equitable access for all rice growers.
