Bihar's Science & Technology Posts Remain Unfilled: 218 Vacancies Without Applicants

The Bihar Public Service Commission reported that 218 vacancies in the state’s Science & Technology department received no applications, leaving the posts unfilled.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) announced that none of the 218 vacancies in the state’s Science & Technology department attracted any applicants during the recent recruitment drive.
The recruitment process, which began with an online application window in early March, was open to candidates meeting the eligibility criteria of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or technology discipline and a minimum age of 21 years.
The lack of applicants has left the department with a significant staffing gap, raising concerns about the continuity of ongoing research and development projects. Officials have suggested that the stringent eligibility requirements and limited awareness of the vacancies may have contributed to the low response.
BPSC has indicated that it will review the recruitment strategy and may reopen the vacancies or extend the application period to attract suitable candidates.
