Bihar Villagers Build Bamboo Bridge

✍️ Amar Ujala · Bihar 🗓 06 Aug 2026, 11:47 AM 👁 5

Villagers in Bihar's West Champaran district have built a bamboo bridge after the road was submerged in floodwater. The bridge was constructed using a collective fund of Rs 10,000.

The villagers of Yogapatti block in West Champaran district of Bihar have shown remarkable initiative in the face of adversity. Following the rise in water level of the Gandak river, the road connecting their village was submerged, cutting off access to the outside world. In the absence of immediate assistance from the administration, the villagers decided to take matters into their own hands. They collectively raised a fund of Rs 10,000 and constructed a bamboo bridge, thereby restoring connectivity to their village.
