The Supreme Court has denied relief to former mayor, former deputy mayor, and nine other former representatives in the Darbhanga Municipal Corporation's toilet tender scam. The court has upheld the ban on them contesting elections and ordered recovery of Rs 27.19 lakh.

The Supreme Court has delivered a significant ruling concerning a scam related to toilet tenders in the Darbhanga Municipal Corporation, Bihar. The apex court refused to grant any reprieve to nine former elected officials, including the former mayor and former deputy mayor.

In its decision, the court has maintained the existing prohibition preventing these individuals from participating in future elections. This ruling stems from their alleged involvement in irregularities concerning the municipal corporation's toilet tender process.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court has mandated the recovery of Rs 27.19 lakh from the concerned former representatives. This directive underscores the gravity of the financial impropriety associated with the scam.
