The Shekhpura SP formed a Special Investigation Team, traced the accused through his mobile number and arrested him within half a day, seizing a scorpion weapon and two phones.
Shekhpura, Bihar – In a swift police operation, the Superintendent of Police (SP) set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) after a minor sexual assault was reported. Investigators used a lead from the accused's mobile number to locate him, and within 12 hours the suspect was taken into custody.
The arrest was carried out by local police officials who also recovered a weapon described as a "scorpion" and two mobile phones believed to belong to the accused. These items are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities said the rapid response underscores their commitment to protecting minors and delivering justice promptly. The case is now under further scrutiny by the SIT, and additional statements from the victim's family are awaited.
The police have not disclosed the suspect's identity pending formal charges, but they confirmed that forensic analysis of the seized devices will be conducted to gather more evidence.
The incident has drawn attention to the need for heightened vigilance in remote areas of Bihar, where such crimes often go unreported.
